Measure the Door as Well as the Interior
The biggest item needs to fit through the door, not just inside the trailer. Measure its width, height, and length, including anything that projects from it. Check the specific trailer’s interior and door dimensions, loading arrangement, and payload before booking.
If you are moving wheeled equipment, discuss its clearance and loaded weight. Different enclosed trailers can have different doors, ramps, and capacities, so confirm the features of the actual rental unit.
Leave Room to Load and Secure the Cargo
Plan how the items will be arranged, loaded, and secured. Allow access to tie down the load and avoid assuming that covered cargo does not need securement. Include every item in the weight calculation, and check the tow vehicle and hitch against the complete loaded trailer.
At the pickup and unloading locations, leave room for the trailer, tow vehicle, and doors or ramp. Think through parking and maneuvering before selecting a larger rental.
